The Craft of Collaboration
Antwerp, Belgium
2019 – 2020

Marking 6 years of practice in Mumbai, this exhibition is built around the objects, drawings, models, mock-ups, samples, photographs, and stories accumulated throughout the process of building Avasara Academy, a residential school for young women in India. First shown at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale and later at the EPFL Archizoom Gallery in Lausanne, the content has been expanded and reimagined to include additional artifacts from our design process for residential interiors in Mumbai, a house to collect water and a boutique eco resort in Zanzibar, a farm house in Kamshet (India), and a sports academy in Goa among others.Together, these elements tell the story of collective engagement, an iterative process, and our endeavor to produce work that is simple, beautiful, and functional. We believe that regardless of method or medium, the greatest form of sustainability is to make work of lasting value.

The rough textured rammed earth walls for the peace pavilion evolved out of a student led workshop and collaboration with BC Architects in Brussels. The color installation was designed by Malene Bach with photography by Ariel Huber.
